Tablet laptops are specialized laptop computers. They are designed with a touch screen monitor that allows the user to navigate through the use of a stylus or fingertip rather than with a track pad or mouse. In many cases, the monitor is mounted on a swivel so that it can be moved in virtually any direction.
There are two main types of tablet laptops; slate and convertible. A slate model looks essentially like a monitor without the keyboard, and all functions are performed using the touch screen. A convertible model looks like a standard laptop except that the monitor can be swiveled around and laid over the keyboard.
Tablet laptops are perfect for people that need to use their computers while travelling, either out of town or just around the office. They are compact and can be used without the need for a keyboard, making them convenient for quick access to files and such. These computers are becoming a popular alternative to the standard laptop computer.
