Laptop
covers may be any of a variety of products designed to protect a notebook.
Generally, these are provided in very slim and portable designs. Sleeves
and cases are just a couple things which may fall under this term.
Some laptop covers simply slide on and off the machine as protection
is necessary. Alternatively, some covers are designs to be affixed to
the computer in a fairly permanent fashion. Shells are a great example
of products which fit into this latter category.
Laptop covers known as sleeves will generally slide right over the
notebook. Ideally, these create a snug fit. Unlike shells, the laptop
cannot be opened when encased within a sleeve. In addition to this,
sleeves are generally used in addition to a carrying case or bag. So
it is very possible for a transportable computer to have a hard shell,
a shielding sleeve, and a protective case for transportation.
