Colored laptops are a relatively recent development in computer history. The idea of a personal computer was not entirely feasible until the 1970s. Right after that time, the first portable designs also began to arise.
Of course, these early incarnations were quite clunky and included many significant limitations. It wasn't until the early 1980s that the first designs utilizing a flip or "clamshell" structure began to appear. For many years afterwards, emphasis was placed on providing more power and capabilities in smaller designs.
Colored laptops evolved when computer culture was comfortable enough with notebook technological design to begin incorporating stylistic experiments into such products. Today, most of the popular laptop styles come in a few color selections. Many standard options have as many as eight colors from which a person can choose at the start.
The key phrase there is "at the start." This isn't the only time at which a person can choose an expressive color for their machine. Plenty of designs allow different colored shells to be ordered to replace the initial color.
There are also later choices which may be explored for colored laptops. Many sites offer what are known as skins. These can be selected from a wide range of pre-existing designs. It is also fairly easy for you to create your own styles from pictures, drawings, or other such things. The result of this is that pretty much any color or pattern desired can be placed upon a laptop.
These options available have opened a number of doors. For instance, it is far easier to keep track of your machine with recognizable designs or colors. So, among family or friends with similar machines, there is less confusion. You are also less likely to forget or lose such a valuable purchase as you put the portability of its design to the test.
Colored laptops are also just a great way to make your machine feel more like it is yours. Sometimes, people feel that such indulgences are a waste of money. However, those who spend most of their time worrying about wasting money are generally incapable of ever feeling comfortable with their finances ever. Most money coaches spend most of their time teaching people how to think about money in a more effective way. A part of this is allowing yourself to spend money and indulge yourself. Having something designed to fit you increases the appreciation you feel for it. You are more likely to protect the investment. It also sends positive signals that you are worth such expenses, which make it much easier to make money (and give it away.)
Some people even like to paint their notebooks themselves. This is more commonly done by people who are wise enough with computers to not damage it in anyway. For most people, such actions are not advised. Doing so should be done at your own risk, as applying paint will generally ruin any warranty you have.
